Biography
Luigi d’Apolito, from Italy, PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic University of Marche (2009), Italy. Presently he is Associate Professor and graduate students’ supervisor of Xiamen University of Technology, winner of “Fujian Friendship Award” (2020), “Xiamen Egret Friendship Award” (2017), received “Fujian provincial high-level talent recognition certificate (Class C)” (2021). From 2005 to 2012 he cooperated with Italian company FAAM in the development of projects of new energy vehicles, powered by lithium batteries and hydrogen fuel cell. He joined Xiamen University of Technology in 2012 and his main research areas are automotive powertrain, lithium battery systems and vehicle dynamics. In recent years he carried out scientific cooperation with Chinese local enterprises in the fields of electric power distribution units, high voltage contactors, oxygen sensors characterization, powertrain simulations and optimization. He has been hired as an "Industrial Scholar" by Xiamen Hongfa Electric Power Appliance Co. Ltd and has been advisor of Xiamen University of Technology for China SAE Formula Student and China SAE Baja competitions, contributing to the victory of four National Championships.
